On March 11, a rumor about Huawei’s Chengdu company’s internal recruitment fraud that led to the dismissal of many product line leaders went viral. Huawei’s internal notification documents subsequently exposed seemed to confirm the rumor. According to relevant reports,There were serious irregularities in Huawei's recruitment in Chengdu. From the initial resume screening to the final entry process, a corruption industry chain has been formed.

For example, during the written examination and interview process, there are behaviors such as taking exams on behalf of others and leaking questions, etc., and the barriers originally used to select talents are in vain. At the same time, entry methods such as "internal referral" and "OD" (outsourcing dispatch) are also used, becoming a tool for some internal personnel to seek personal gain, and even some management personnel are involved.

Rumors show that after Huawei discovered the Chengdu recruitment problem, it directly blocked the Chengdu office building and conducted a review of all employees involved. It was revealed that a certain department with problems directly laid off more than 100 employees, including more than 50 regular workers and nearly a hundred OD employees. Due to serious job violations, these laid-off employees will not receive any form of financial compensation, and even their original stock options will be cancelled.

A Huawei internal report that was subsequently exposed showed that an audit found that many people in various departments including ICT Products and Solutions, Semiconductor Business Department, Human Resources Management Department, and ICT Sales and Services Department had engaged in irregularities such as arranging, participating in substitute exams, and disclosing service ability inspection questions to candidates in the non-employee selection business. At the same time, many people made profits by selling the company’s information assets. Their behavior seriously violated the Huawei Employee Code of Business Conduct and the company’s relevant business management requirements. After research, the personnel involved were fired and required to return their illegal profits and compensate the company for losses.
