When Windows 11 24H2 was first launched, Microsoft noticed that some game anti-cheat systems had compatibility issues. For example, the well-known Easy Anti-Cheat did not work properly, which would cause the game to crash or not run properly.

In a support document released on July 25, 2025, Microsoft stated that the compatibility issue between Windows 11 24H2 and Easy Anti-Cheat has been completely resolved, and users who are blocked from upgrading will receive an automatic push.

That is, users who are currently running Windows 11 23H2 and have installed games that come with the Easy Anti-Cheat module will soon notice an upgrade notification pop-up on their PC, or automatically update to the Windows 11 24H2 version when the PC is idle.

For example, EPIC's popular game Fortnite uses this anti-cheating module. Now users can continue to play Fortnite after upgrading to the Windows 11 24H2 version. Of course, users also need to update to the latest version of the game.

In addition, this compatibility issue actually mainly affects the Intel Alder and Intel vPro processors usually used by enterprises. Intel's other ordinary processors should not have much problems when paired with Windows 11 24H2+Easy Anti-Cheat.

Specific users can upgrade to the Windows 11 24H2 version for testing. If after the upgrade, performance drops when playing games or problems such as being unable to enter the game, they should consider temporarily rolling back to the old version and wait for Microsoft or game developers to provide solutions.
