📅 2026-10-31

Abstract:

Apple announced on October 31 that the first batch of Apple Intelligence features for Chinese users will be launched soon. As an artificial intelligence system deeply integrated into the daily experience of iPhone, Apple Intelligence will help users complete tasks such as writing, communication, creation, and information processing through generative model capabilities. The first batch of features are planned to be open for experience with the latest iOS developer test version on November 4, and will be launched to Chinese users with the official version of iOS 27.3 in December. Related support for other platforms will be launched one after another after completing the necessary approvals.

A major feature of this Chinese version of Apple Intelligence is Apple’s cooperation with Alibaba to introduce Qianwen’s large model capabilities into some functional scenarios. In the future, Chinese users can directly use Qianwen in functions such as Siri, writing tools, and visual intelligence to obtain artificial intelligence services such as text understanding, image understanding, and content generation.

According to information released by Apple, the first batch of online functions cover many aspects such as translation, writing, image processing, email management, and notification organization. Among them, the real-time translation function helps users send messages or communicate across languages and has been integrated into messaging, FaceTime and phone applications. Users can also use AirPods 4, AirPods Pro 2 and subsequent models that support active noise reduction for real-time translation of face-to-face conversations, further lowering the language communication threshold.

In terms of content creation, writing tools can automatically rewrite, proofread and summarize text content to help users improve writing efficiency. The new "creation" function allows users to directly call Qianwen in the system-level writing tool to generate original content.

Visual intelligence uses the iPhone camera to identify objects and places around them, providing users with instant information. The Remove Tool in the Photos app removes distracting elements from your photos while keeping the overall look natural. Users can also quickly find photos and videos through natural language search, simply typing in a description to locate what they're looking for. In addition, users can automatically generate memory videos based on simple text prompts.

In terms of personalized expression, Apple's "Smart Emoticons" allow users to directly create exclusive emoticons through text descriptions to meet the needs of different communication scenarios.

The email experience has also received many upgrades. A new "Priority Mail" area at the top of your inbox highlights the important emails that need your attention, such as your boarding pass or important invitations for the day. The email summary function can automatically refine the core content of long emails and complex email threads, while smart replies will generate quick reply suggestions based on context to help users handle communication more efficiently.

Notification management has also been enhanced. The notification summary can automatically summarize the content of long or stacked notifications, and the primary notification will display the most urgent matters at the top. The distraction-reducing focus mode will only push important information that needs to be processed immediately, reducing the frequency of users being disturbed by irrelevant notifications.

In terms of voice and recording functions, Apple Intelligence can automatically generate summaries for audio transcriptions in the Notes application, and can also summarize call transcripts to help users quickly grasp key information.

Apple has also upgraded Siri. The new version of Siri interacts more naturally, allowing users to talk to Siri directly through text input. Even if the user's expression is incomplete or the sentences are not coherent enough, the system can still understand their true intention and maintain context throughout the continuous conversation.

For requests that require more complex knowledge support, Siri can also access the Qianwen model to provide assistance. Not only can users do general Q&A, they can also ask questions about photo content and documents including PDF files and presentations. Users can access related capabilities by logging in to their Qianwen account or using Apple login.

Apple also emphasized that the first batch of Apple Intelligence features launched for the Chinese market do not include Siri AI and other next-generation Apple Intelligence features released by the company at WWDC 2026, which have not yet been included in the scope of this update.

According to Apple’s announced plan, the first batch of core Apple Intelligence features will support the iPhone 16 series and subsequent models, iPhone Duo, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone Air. When using related functions, the device language and Siri language need to be set to both English and Simplified Chinese. Some features may vary by language and region.
