"GTA6" new marketing trick: Miami intends to transform a county into a vice city

📅 2026-09-05

Abstract:

The marketing of "GTA6" can be described as brilliant. From the previous large-scale leaks, it has successfully caught the attention of players and the 20-minute extended version of Netflix has successfully whetted the appetite of players. Recently, the latest news revealed that the Miami-Dade County government intends to promote "GTA6" by transforming several real locations to imitate the game.

Mayor Danielle Levine Cava’s administration has been in talks with Rockstar about transforming Miami-Dade County into a real-life crime

city

, to promote "GTA6".

The mayor's office currently seems interested in the proposal, seeing it as a great opportunity to promote the game and Miami County. As part of the partnership, portions of Miami International Airport will be modeled after Vice City Airport.

In addition, the county government plans to promote "GTA6" through its trains and manhole covers scattered throughout the city. Of course, if this marketing deal is accepted, it's likely that its scope will extend beyond these initial offers.

One problem, however, is that Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz is opposed to the deal. The police chief believes that the game "GTA" promotes

violence

, murder and robbery and should therefore not be associated in any way with Miami-Dade County.

Given these developments, it will be interesting to see whether the City of Miami ultimately reaches this marketing agreement. Rockstar and the "GTA" series have always been good at using real locations for promotion, so it will undoubtedly be gratifying if "GTA6" can be promoted with Miami as the background.
