Abstract:
After Tokyo Game Show 2026 entered the public open day, on-site gifts such as "GTA6" T-shirts attracted a large number of visitors to grab them, and some items soon appeared on second-hand platforms. The concentration of people also caused individual distribution activities to be temporarily suspended due to safety risks.

A special theater has been set up in the PlayStation exhibition area to play Netflix's recently launched "GTA6" display content with tactile feedback and surround sound. Audiences who participate in the experience can get a free T-shirt, the pattern of which combines the PlayStation button symbol with the gradient color scheme of "GTA6".
This T-shirt appeared on the Japanese second-hand trading platform Mercari within two business days, with a price tag of more than 12,000 yen per piece. After the first public opening day, the relevant experience quotas were quickly sold out; about 10 minutes after entering the venue, the exhibition area team stopped accepting new visitors because the capacity limit was reached.

Similar situations also occurred outside the game exhibition area. The Red Bull exhibition area originally planned to distribute metal tumblers with light effects and free drinks to the audience, but the site was overcrowded and the distribution activities were stopped at 11:15 that day. The event then resumed, and the tumbler soon appeared on Mercari for over 6,000 yen.
Other on-site items being resold include "Pallu" trading cards, "Final Fantasy" trading cards that come with "Final Fantasy: Resonance"-related experiences, and special new issues from early Game Freak fan magazines. The theme of this issue of the magazine is related to a new weather mobile game launched by the company.
The Tokyo Game Show celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, and the number of visitors during the public open day has further increased. The organizer originally added a fifth exhibition period for the first time, but due to the threat of typhoon, the event has been cancelled.
