"GTA6" plot goal revealed: both protagonists want to quit the criminal life together

Abstract:

At present, we already know a lot about "GTA66". From the game's crime mechanics to the unique characteristics of NPCs, Rockstar has gradually revealed more information about this upcoming open-world adventure game. However, the studio has always been relatively cautious about the game's story, revealing few details.

This is not difficult to understand. Rockstar apparently wants to keep narrative details secret until the game is released and doesn't want to spoil it. However, a new in-depth report about the game provides a clearer understanding of Jason and Lucia's journey: both seem to want to leave their life of crime behind.

Edge magazine published a long feature report on "GTA6", exploring many aspects of the new game, including the game's narrative. According to reports, Jason and Lucia's ultimate goal is to wash their hands of each other in a golden basin. This allows people to understand from a different perspective what exactly drives the two new protagonists of the series forward.

This may mean that this game will be different from "Give Him Love 5". In the previous game, money, material wealth, and power all played an important role in the protagonists' respective stories. In "GTA6", Rockstar seems to be exploring some more personal themes.

Studio head Rob Nelson acknowledged that many players view the GTA series as a power fantasy, but said Jason and Lucia are pursuing more than that. Money is still one of the factors driving their actions, but the two seem to have greater expectations for their lives and their relationship with each other.

Rockstar has explored similar ideas before in Red Dead Redemption 2, particularly in Arthur Morgan's struggle between spending his money on himself or feeding others in the camp. Nelson said that "GTA6" will continue to build on this concept and give the protagonist a more nuanced and complex motivation than simply accumulating wealth.

For Jason and Lucia, their relationship seems to be at the heart of these expectations. When the game opens, they are already together and "want to give the relationship another chance." The pair's Bonnie and Clyde-inspired partnership has been in the spotlight since the game's announcement, but it seems Rockstar is also looking to explore life outside of crime, including what kind of future they want to create together.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether Jason and Lucia can truly escape the world of crime. Given the past direction of the series, saying goodbye to this life may not be easy. This may create an interesting conflict between the life they desire and the actions they must take to achieve their goals.

Edge magazine's in-depth report on "GTA 6" reveals more. The report released 12 new screenshots, further demonstrating the sheer scale of the Leonidas map - developers are still discovering some new areas they have never seen before.
