A consumer recently stated that the ROG 20th Anniversary component set he had reserved on the ASUS official website was canceled without any attempt to deliver it. Since the current price of the set has increased by US$500 from the original pre-sale price, consumers will have to bear higher costs if they purchase it again.
According to Reddit user Trying-to-buildpc, he placed an order for the ROG 20th Anniversary component set on the first day ASUS opened pre-orders. The package includes ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Edition 20 graphics card, ROG Crosshair X870E Edition 20 motherboard, ROG Ryujin 360 Edition 20 all-in-one water cooling radiator, ROG Thor 3000W Titanium III Edition 20 power supply, and ROG GR20 Edition 20 chassis.
Among them, the RTX 5090 commemorative edition graphics card alone costs approximately US$6,000. The entire set of products was originally priced at $10,350, but ASUS's current page shows that the price of the set has risen to $10,849.96, which is an increase of $500 from the original price.
The user said that on the day of expected shipment on August 7, ASUS had generated a batch of logistics tracking numbers for the order, but these shipment records were canceled the next day. Because they purchased it with several friends, everyone's logistics information showed that the order was canceled; at the same time, the credit card pre-authorization was also canceled, so they once thought that ASUS had canceled the relevant order.
However, several friends successively received the original order goods from ASUS about a week later, and no clear notification was received before that, and the relevant payments were deducted again. In contrast, Trying-to-buildpc orders have not made the same progress.
After failing to receive ASUS updates, the user contacted ASUS customer service. ASUS responded that the case is still under review and said it is being processed and will notify users as soon as further information or details are obtained.
Subsequently, the user learned that his original package had been returned to ASUS, but the courier did not make a delivery attempt and did not give an explanation as to why. If you still want to purchase this set of ROG 20th anniversary components, you may now have to re-order at a higher current price.
It is worth noting that ASUS’s reputation for after-sales and commercial operations among gamers in recent years has not been ideal. In 2024, Gamers Nexus publicly criticized Asus's RMA repair process. The incident eventually prompted Asus to issue an apology statement and promise to adjust relevant practices. Earlier, Asus had caused controversy by warning that installing a beta BIOS to address the risk of Ryzen 7000X3D processor burnout might void the warranty.
