Abstract:
Since the producers of the Bond film series released the final casting announcement, the identity of the next 007 has been a hot topic in the film industry. One of Josh O'Connor's theater colleagues accidentally revealed that the British actor has been cast, according to a source. In October, O'Connor starred in the play "The Golden Boy" at the Almeida Theater in London. Last Wednesday night, a journalist's source met a cast member from the show who claimed to be a friend of Josh's at the French House bar in London's Soho.

According to him, some tourists recognized him and asked to take a photo with him. Their conversation was purely accidental.
"I ran into one of Josh's co-stars at a French restaurant. We happened to be chatting in the corner. After a few beers, he blurted out that Josh would be the next James Bond."
The source responded that this was just speculation, but he did not give up. According to his account, O'Connor himself confessed to his colleagues that he had landed the role after the company celebrated its Halloween performance.
"I was surprised that he was talking so openly about it. But he was obviously very proud of Josh and very confident about how the Bond role would impact Josh's career."
O'Connor is considered the most unexpected choice among the popular candidates. Other contenders include Jack Lowden ("Slow Horse") and Callum Turner ("Up and Down"). Bookmakers have odds of 12/1 on O'Connor, whose name has been linked to the role of Bond for more than a year.
O'Connor's former 007 actor is also considered a fan of hers. Daniel Craig's latest Bond film "No Time to Die" will be released in 2021. He insisted that O'Connor star in "Knives Out: Back to Life" released last year. The film's director, Rian Johnson, admitted that he had not known O'Connor before. He said it was Craig who recommended the actor to him.
"He was an unexpected discovery for me because I didn't know his work before. It was Daniel who recommended him to me. Daniel knew him through Luca Guadagnino, who directed The Pretender. I saw The Pretender and thought, 'Oh my God, this guy just jumped off the screen.' "Later I watched "Chimera" again and found that he also showed strong acting skills, but his style was completely different.
I think he is a very special actor and as soon as I met him, I knew I wanted to film with him. He is very kind and a very nice person. We were so lucky to have him, and if we had him now, I don't know, because he's a top actor now. ”
If O'Connor ends up getting the role, he will be 37 when filming starts next year. Craig was also the same age when he filmed his debut movie "Casino Royale" in 2006.
Earlier this week, O'Connor herself broke her silence for the first time to address the rumors.
"Being compared to them is extraordinary. Hearing that and realizing you were being considered for a role like this is so incredible that it makes you pinch yourself.
But I'm afraid I have nothing more to say. ”
Final auditions reportedly took place over the weekend of October 24 at Bray Studios in Berkshire. The actors auditioned under the direction of Denis Villeneuve. The Dune creator was announced last summer as directing the new film, promising fans of the series would maintain the same high quality.
Amazon and MGM Studios have not released any official announcements or set a timetable for a decision. Amy Pascal, the director and producer of the new film, believes that fans will know the identity of the new Bond before 2027.
The film will begin production in 2027 and is expected to be released in 2028-2029.
