Jen-Hsun Huang talks about immigration and goes against Trump

Abstract:

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said in a recent podcast that the United States must maintain its status as a "magnet" for top technology talents, even if these talents come from outside the United States. “We want great minds from all over the world to come here and bring their great ideas,” Huang said on the “Bg2” podcast.

Although Huang said immigrants must enter the country "legally", he also pointed out that it is crucial to strike a good balance between all aspects. When it comes to attracting foreign talent, he said: "Of course we want to do that."

Huang's remarks are at odds with the Trump administration's policy agenda. As part of its broader immigration restrictions, the Trump administration has been trying to crack down on H-1B visas, often the first way tech workers enter the United States.

Last week, U.S. Deputy General Vance and other officials said at a press conference that Microsoft and Adobe would be banned from participating in a federal visa sponsorship program that links H-1B visas to green card applications.
