Abstract:
Nintendo stated that the Nintendo Switch 2, which has been on sale for more than a year, is still at the beginning of its life cycle. The company has made plans for the next few years, focusing not only on launching games, but also continuing to promote its IP into other entertainment areas such as movies.

Devon Pritchard, president and chief operating officer of Nintendo of America, said the story of Nintendo Switch 2 "has only just begun." Currently, a number of works from Nintendo's own and third-party developers have been launched on the platform, and she also looks forward to the development team continuing to bring new content in the future.
The multi-year plan also involves partnerships with Sony, Sony Pictures Entertainment and others. Pritchard said that Nintendo hopes to bring relevant entertainment experiences to existing players and fans through these cooperation and touch points, while reaching new audiences.
Nintendo’s previous generation console, the Nintendo Switch, was launched in 2017 and will continue to be sold until the Nintendo Switch 2 is launched in mid-2025. Nintendo has not yet announced the end of production of the original Nintendo Switch, and the two generations of consoles are currently being sold in parallel.
In recent years, Nintendo has also gradually expanded its IP layout in the film field and cooperated with Illumination Entertainment to produce the Super Mario series of movies. "Super Mario Bros. Movie", released in 2023, has a global box office of more than 1 billion U.S. dollars, and its sequel "Super Mario Galaxy Movie" has a global box office of 1.3 billion U.S. dollars.
In addition to continuing to expand film and television projects, Nintendo is also preparing a remake of "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" and a new orthodox work in the Pokémon series. The next big movie project is a live-action version of "The Legend of Zelda", and related games and cross-media cooperation will become part of its plans in the next few years.
