Telegram recently released the latest version update, which focuses on upgrading the message bubble interaction capabilities within the application, and brings welcome messages, in-message buttons, richer embedded media support and other functions. The update coincides with Telegram’s 13th anniversary.
One of the main new features in this update is the "Welcome Message". Group chat or channel admins can now set up exclusive messages that are shown only to new members. The content can be composed of multiple messages and supports media content, rich text formatting, tables and embedded media. Because these messages aren't repeated to existing members, administrators can use them to introduce community rules and provide useful links without taking up normal chat content.
Telegram also added a button function to the text message bubble. Developers can create mini programs embedded in a single message and configure multiple buttons in them, so that the originally static message can carry more interactive forms, such as questionnaires, quizzes or mini-games.
In addition, Telegram’s rich text editor has also been expanded and now supports more types of embedded media. Users can embed documents, files or music directly into text blocks rather than sending them as separate attachments. Once you have entered more than three lines, click the expand icon to enable the editor.
For users who are still using older versions of the client, Telegram has added a compatibility prompt mechanism. When the app fails to render a new feature correctly, the interface will display a placeholder prompt and provide a button to jump to the latest version update page.
The gift function in Telegram Marketplace has also been improved. After users purchase rare collectible gifts through Telegram Stars, they can now add signatures and comments to the gift before sending it to enhance personalized expression.
This update was released on the occasion of Telegram’s 13th anniversary. After years of development and many challenges, Telegram continues to expand its messaging interaction and community management capabilities.
