According to news on September 18, Tencent’s new AI native input tool Chatterfly has launched a low-key internal test. The product is also called the previously rumored Yuanbao input method by the market.
Currently, the internal testing is only open to macOS and Windows desktop clients. You need to use the internal testing code to enter the product; iOS and Android mobile pages are marked "Coming soon", not yet online. The bottom layer relies on Tencent's hybrid multi-modal large model, which is different from traditional input methods that simply convert speech to text. Chatterfly is positioned as an AI expression assistant, focusing on the ability to "speak and write". It can understand contextual semantics, automatically organize and polish spoken content into written text, and adapt to complex recording environments such as noisy, weak network, and soft voices.
The product has six built-in natural scene Skill capabilities, covering meeting minutes, work reports, project progress review, marketing copywriting, email polishing, Vibe‑Coding prompt word optimization, and can be called in various application software such as WeChat and QQ. It is worth noting that voice transcription recordings and related records are stored locally by default and are not uploaded to the cloud. The product will also gradually learn users' expression habits, optimize output style, and support personal vocabulary maintenance.
As of now, Tencent has not released an official announcement. Product functions, iteration rhythm, and mobile terminal launch time are subject to official subsequent disclosures.
