Abstract:
The iPhone 18 Pro series has been officially launched in many markets around the world. Many of the first users to grab the new phones encountered unexpected system anomalies as soon as they got their hands on them. As the first batch of users got their hands on the real phones, a large number of user feedback began to appear on social platforms. New phones frequently reported Panic Full errors, which is an abnormal situation where the device crashes without warning, automatically shuts down and then restarts unexpectedly.
Judging from the feedback posted by users in major digital communities, most fault triggering scenarios are directly related to the use of the Face ID function. Many users said that when they used Face ID to unlock recently deleted private albums in the photo app, or log in to various mobile banking software for facial verification, the device directly triggered a restart before the recognition was completed.
Many users have also encountered the Panic Full phenomenon, which seems to have nothing to do with the Face ID function. Some people are lying down watching online videos while eating, and the screen of their mobile phones suddenly freezes for a few seconds before being forced to exit to the desktop; some people are just driving and commuting with music playing in the background, but the audio is suddenly disconnected and the device goes blank and then restarts; some users just click on the flashlight function on the lock screen, and the phone shuts down without warning, and then automatically restarts after a few seconds.
This type of failure is not unique to the domestic market. iPhone 18 Pro models that have been released in the US market have also reported a large number of identical problems. Some overseas users complained that less than 24 hours after purchasing the iPhone 18 Pro Max, the iPhone 18 Pro Max started to restart continuously. It restarted 3 times just when calling Face ID, and restarted an additional time when running the built-in Apple Wallet application.
Some netizens even accidentally discovered an operation that can 100% reproduce the crash. If they pull down the notification center and control center menus at the same time, the phone will freeze instantly. Many ordinary users who followed the trend and tried it left messages in the comment area of the relevant demonstration video, saying that they were just testing it out of curiosity, but ended up restarting their new phone on the spot.
The initial response from customer service at Apple’s official retail stores is that if users frequently encounter such abnormal conditions after receiving the new phone, they can directly take the device to an offline official after-sales point for free testing.
Some Apple third-party authorized dealers also revealed that the current probability of such systemic failures in new phones is actually very low, with only one in 10,000 units. As long as the equipment purchased through official direct sales channels encounters such problems, even if it has been activated, you can go through the replacement process directly. However, third-party stores and some authorized distribution outlets in the digital market have clear rules. As long as the device is unboxed and activated, it no longer supports unreasonable replacement. Returns and exchanges can only be made if the device is not activated.

Interestingly, there are also many photos of the iPhone 18 Pro series showing "paint peeling off and deformation of the casing."
