Abstract:

The initial sales performance of Apple’s latest generation of high-end mobile phones, the iPhone 18 Pro series, showed obvious regional differentiation after its launch. A supply chain survey by market research firm Counterpoint Research shows that global sales of iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max increased by 3.1% year-on-year in the first three weeks of their launch, but this growth relies heavily on the strong performance of the Chinese market. If the Chinese market is excluded, the overall sales growth of Apple's new generation Pro series will be significantly weakened.

Data from Counterpoint Research shows that iPhone 18 Sales of the Pro series in the first three weeks of its launch in China increased by 29% year-on-year, which was the main driving force for this global sales growth. In contrast, sales in the U.S. market fell by 4% year-on-year, and in the Japanese market, sales fell sharply by 27%. The performance of the Indian market is relatively positive, but the research institution did not announce the specific growth rate of this market.

This result shows that Apple’s new generation of high-end mobile phones have not achieved simultaneous growth in all major markets. Instead, the Chinese market is strong and some mature markets are weak. Although global sales are still higher than the previous generation product, the overall growth of only 3.1% is not enough to prove that the new machine has received widespread and balanced demand worldwide.

The strong performance of the Chinese market is related to two factors. First of all, Apple's stocking situation at the initial launch of this year's new machine is better than that of the previous generation, which means that more consumers can buy directly during the launch stage
