Abstract:
"Journey to the West", China's first long-form drama produced using AIGC's full-process technology, officially launched today at 18:00. The Huaguoshan episode, which will be the first to be introduced to the audience, has a total of 5 episodes, with a single episode lasting 40 minutes.
The series will not only be exclusively launched on Mango TV, but will also be launched on Hunan Satellite TV's prime TV series at 20:00 on the day of broadcast, starting a linkage mode of simultaneous broadcast between Taiwan and the Internet. The platform has also set corresponding advanced viewing rules for viewers with different membership levels. Mango TV SVIP members can watch 3 episodes in advance, and ordinary VIP members can watch 2 episodes in advance.
According to the project team, this mythological seasonal drama "Journey to the West" is adapted from the classical god and demon novel of the same name written by an anonymous author in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. The first season has a total of 30 episodes, with each episode having a fixed duration of 40 minutes.
As recognized as one of the three well-known sequels to "Journey to the West", the core setting of the original story of "Journey to the West" is that after all sentient beings in the world received the scriptures retrieved by Monk Tang and his disciples, various misunderstandings and misinterpretations gradually occurred. The relevant characters in the second generation of Journey to the West will regroup by fate and embark on the road to obtain scriptures again.
This adapted series deeply integrates the forty-chapter story framework of the original work with the various foreshadowings and scattered clues laid in the familiar "Journey to the West" main chapter, and builds a complete narrative system for the post-Journey to the West sequel that is completely logical and self-consistent.
The timeline of the story is set one thousand and eighty years after Sun Wukong was canonized. During the long passage of time, the content of the scriptures retrieved at that time gradually became damaged, causing people to read more and more biasedly. The Huaguo Mountain that gave birth to the Monkey King once again gave birth to a brand new little stone monkey, that is, Sun Xiaosheng.
The beginning of the story throws up a very tense point of conflict. The ten old monkeys of Huaguo Mountain whose names were crossed out by Sun Wukong in the Book of Life and Death unexpectedly disappeared in public at the Immortal Sage Celebration, and the entire Huaguo Mountain instantly fell into a huge unknown crisis.
This drama is also the first domestic drama to be approved for simultaneous review and broadcast after the release of the 21 relevant policies of radio and television. The entire project adopts an innovative production model of simultaneous production, review, and broadcast.
This new production model can not only significantly shorten the overall cycle from creation to launch of high-quality content, but also facilitate the creative team in the subsequent production process to dynamically adjust and optimize subsequent plot details and character settings at any time based on review and revision opinions and real audience feedback collected after broadcast.
