Abstract:
We are full of grief and cry out: the initiator and donor of the "Liu Huan Original Music Charity Fund", a musician who integrated music education, music creation and singing, our most beloved teacher Liu Huan, passed away in Shanghai at 9:52 on September 25, 2026, accompanied by his family, at the age of 63.
Liu Huan majored in French literature at the Beijing Institute of International Relations, but he "didn't do his job" and stood out in the 1985 English and French song contests of the Capital College. From then on, he has been on the road to music. He has composed and performed many popular musical works, but in fact, he is a university teacher. He founded and taught "History of Western Classical Music" at the University of International Business and Economics. Liu Huan believes in "teaching and teaching make each other mutually beneficial" and "kung fu lies beyond poetry". He encouraged students to learn some seemingly "useless" knowledge, cultivate their moral character, cultivate their sentiments, and improve their aesthetics. He has been on the podium for thirty years and is deeply loved by students.
In 2014, Liu Huan initiated and planned the original music reality show "SING MY SONG" and served as a mentor; in 2019, Liu Huan donated funds in his own name and jointly established the "Liu Huan Original Music Charity Fund" with Hunan Radio, Film and Television Group (Taiwan) Mango V Fund to cheer for Chinese original music and support China's intelligent manufacturing.
Liu Huan's original music works and the "Liu Huan Original Music Charity Fund" are the valuable assets he left to the majority of music lovers and Chinese original musicians. His departure is a great loss to China's original pop music. We will follow his last wish, complete his unfinished business, and carry out the annual "Liu Huan Original Music Charity Fund" to the end.
