Abstract:
Brandon Stirrup, who is responsible for Xbox business strategy, publicly stated that Xbox is using AI and showed a simple game example that he completed over the weekend. He said he had never made a video game before and put in about three hours of proactive work to complete the sample.

Stirrup used Unreal Engine and MCP in its production process. He also posted a screen recording showing the process of continuous testing of the agent, observing the running results and making repeated adjustments. According to him, the delay or freeze in the screen is caused by the agent taking screenshots to see the running effect.
Based on this experiment, Stirrup proposed that games can be made with simple prompts, and imagined that if two people work together for another year, the scale of the results may continue to expand. However, this demonstration is only an experimental sample completed by an individual and cannot directly prove the cost or final quality required for a full commercial game.
Stirrup believes that because players generally have a negative attitude towards AI, some game industry managers are reluctant to openly discuss relevant practices, but users should understand the actual situation. He expressed his willingness to bear the consequences of taking a public stance and hoped that other people working with AI within Xbox would not have to continue to shy away from the topic.
Different uses may also lead to different attitudes: using AI to automatically handle repetitive and tedious tasks is relatively easier to gain acceptance, while using it to replace developers responsible for story, art and other creative work is more likely to be opposed. The current public content represents Stirrup’s personal position and demonstration, and is not the complete AI development policy released by Microsoft.
