In September 2022, Intel announced the complete lineup of ArcA series graphics cards. From high to low, they are A770, A750, A580, A380, and A310. However, a full year later, ArcA580 is still missing.According to the specifications announced at the time, the A580 is equipped with 24 Xe cores and 24 light-tracing units, which is exactly three times that of the A380. It is equipped with the same 128-bit 8GB video memory as the A750, but the core frequency is lower at only 1.7GHz, and the power consumption of the entire card is 175W.
But I don't know why,The A580 has never been officially released, and during last week's Technology Innovation Conference, Intel did not mention the Arc graphics card at all. There was no legendary Alchemist+ upgraded version, and there was no second-generation Battlemage next year.
It seems that the A580 has probably been canceled a long time ago. After all, the most high-end A770 can only beat the RTX3060. The A580 is really uncompetitive, and the price is low enough, but it is not as good as the A380.
Of course, at least in the short term, Intel will not give up Arc graphics cards, let alone independent GPUs. After all, this is an important part of its full-stack AI products, supporting the GPUFlex and GPUMax series, and is also the basis for core graphics.
Intel has previously disclosed that the second-generation graphics card will have a new architecture, which will bring better DX12 performance and better ray tracing performance, making up for many shortcomings and shortcomings of the first-generation product. It is expected to be released in the second quarter of next year.
