Social media platform X CEO Linda Yaccarino said on Wednesday that the company could become profitable in early 2024. She defended the company's results under Musk's leadership in her latest interview. It is worth mentioning that the public appearance that day coincided with Yaccarino’s 100th day as CEO of the X platform.

She faced questions in the interview about whether she has sufficient autonomy in the role and whether the company remains attractive to advertisers, many of whom have been wary of the rapid changes on the X platform and Musk's controversial image.

In this regard, Yaccarino pointed out,“The speed of change and ambition of Platform X is truly unmatched anywhere else.”

When asked about third-party estimates showing that Platform X has dropped to 25th in active app users—even behind Samsung’s Clock app—Yaccarino countered that trends in key indicators of Platform X’s user activity are still “very, very positive.” However, she did not provide specific data.

Yaccarino also said that in the past 12 weeks, approximately 1,500 advertisers have returned to the platform, and 90% of the company's top 100 advertiser clients have returned to the platform.

Of course, while Yaccarino says the company will be profitable next year, it is also facing a series of lawsuits. The lawsuits allege that Platform X failed to pay office rent on time and failed to pay millions of dollars in severance packages to thousands of laid-off employees.

Since Musk acquired the social media giant last October, X has been trying to retain advertisers worried about being exposed next to inappropriate content as researchers and activist groups report an increase in posts promoting hate.

In recent weeks, anti-Semitic content on the X platform has become a focus of attention. Earlier this month, Musk threatened to file a lawsuit against the Anti-Defamation League, blaming the self-proclaimed "anti-hate" group for a decline in advertising revenue from Platform X, which he recently helmed.

Asked about Musk's dispute with the ADL on Wednesday, Yaccarino said it was "disappointing" that the group didn't acknowledge X's progress in safety.

She also said,Platform X has rolled out new content moderation tools and features to prevent ads from appearing next to certain content, decisions that didn't exist before Musk's acquisition.
