Tianyancha shows that Xiaomi Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. has recently added a number of patent information, one of which is titled "Rear Body Structure and Bi-fold Door Type Vehicle" and the public number is CN116714680A. The patent abstract shows that the present disclosure relates to a rear body structure and a split-door vehicle. The rear body structure includes a hinge mechanism, a rear door and a rear floor inner wheel house reinforcement plate; the hinge mechanism includes a hinge seat and a rotating arm. The hinge seat is connected to the rear floor inner wheel house reinforcing plate. The rotating arm is rotatably connected to the hinge seat, and the rotating arm is connected to the rear door.

Connecting the hinge seat to the rear floor inner wheel house reinforcement plate eliminates the need to reserve space on the C-pillar and does not increase the size of the C-pillar, which in turn does not limit the styling stitching. Secondly, by arranging the hinge seat on the rear floor inner wheel house reinforcement plate, the strength and stiffness requirements for rear door installation can be effectively met. In addition, by arranging the hinge seat on the rear floor inner wheel house reinforcement plate, the front and rear dimensions of the rear door opening will not be affected, and there is no need to increase the vehicle wheelbase to meet the requirements for entry and exit.
Automobile side-by-side doors are a novel way to open doors. In related technologies, the rear doors of side-by-side doors are often installed on the C-pillar through at least two hinges. For the C-pillar, on the one hand, there needs to be enough layout space in the up and down direction, and on the other hand, it needs to have sufficient mounting surface size in the left and right directions. This results in a wide design size of the C-pillar, which in turn leads to a larger rear door seam on the C-pillar, and reduces the size of the rear door opening, which affects the convenience of passengers getting in and out. In addition, after the hinge is installed on the C-pillar, in order to avoid interference between the rear door and the side panel during the opening process, the rear side panel needs to be processed in separate pieces, which increases the unit cost and mold investment of the side panel. In order to overcome the problems existing in the related technologies, the above patent provides a body rear structure and a bi-fold door type vehicle to solve the technical problems existing in the related technologies.
In addition to the disclosure of relevant patents, it has recently been reported that Xiaomi cars are now in the trial production stage, and this work has been carried out for less than a month. Xiaomi currently produces about 50 prototype cars per week. Regarding the issue of Xiaomi's production qualifications, a person familiar with the matter said: "Xiaomi Motors has only received approval from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in the past two months. It will be approved by the end of the year at the latest. Once the approval is received, it can immediately ramp up full-scale mass production of Xiaomi cars."
