Dell is gradually moving the production of PC chips and complete machines outside of China, and HP, the world's second largest PC manufacturer after Lenovo, will do the same. According to foreign media reports,HP is working with a number of electronics manufacturing service providers to move most of its notebook production lines out of China and to Mexico, Thailand, Vietnam and other places.

in,HP business notebooks will focus on production in Mexico, conveniently serving the main market the United States.

Consumer notebooks mainly go to Thailand, HP believes that its relatively mature PC supply chain ecosystem will help smooth the transition.

Vietnam will start producing HP notebooks in 2024.

According to HP's plan, up to 5 million notebooks will be produced outside China in 2023, which is equivalent to nearly one-tenth of its total global shipments of 55.2 million units for the year.

However, HP emphasized that China is still its important market and will continue to operate in China, especially the Chongqing production base that has been put into production since 2008.

At least 20% of Dell's notebook production this year will come from Vietnam.

According to the exposed timetable, Dell expects to first exclude manufacturing in mainland China from its midstream and downstream supply chains starting in 2025, and prioritize transformation in the U.S. domestic demand market. In 2026, it will begin to transfer CI component procurement in batches outside of China.

It is estimated that by 2027, 35-40% of Dell's products will be produced outside of mainland China.
