Building on last year's revamped PlayStation Plus offering, Sony announced new PS5 cloud streaming capabilities for Premium-level subscribers. While some cloud streaming services are already used to transfer PS3 games to PS5, this new feature is designed to allow players to stream PS5 games without download time, file size and other possible inconveniences.

What is PS5 Cloud Streaming (PS5 Cloud Streaming)?
Many big-name PS5 Plus games will have cloud streaming capabilities, such as "Spider-Man: Miles Morales," "Horizon West" and "Mortal Kombat 11." Non-Plus series games such as "Resident Evil 4", "Genshin Impact" and "Fortnite" will also support cloud streaming services.
PS5 game trial versions of certain games will further utilize PS5 cloud streaming technology. Although there is no clear list yet, officials say that AAA games such as "Hogwarts Legacy", "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" and "Calisto Protocol" will also be supported when the service launches.
The obvious comparison for this service is Microsoft's xCloud, which also allows players to stream Xbox games through the cloud. The service fully launched in 2021 and has since allowed more devices to stream Xbox games, which is the opposite of Sony's approach here. At launch, PS5 Cloud Streaming will only be available on PS5, but the official announcement makes it clear that this will be the case at launch, and will likely be expanded to other platforms in the future (experiencing Bloodborne on PC may finally be a reality!)
The PS5 cloud streaming service will be launched in phases later this month. The service will launch in Japan on October 17, in Europe on October 23, and in North America on October 30.
October PlayStation Plus game catalog
While Sony announced October games for PlayStation Plus for all membership levels a few weeks ago, today it revealed which games will be joining the PSP Plus Extra and Premium catalogues. The works will enter the catalog on October 17th and are designed to correspond with Halloween.
The list of games includes: Gotham Knights, Disco Elysium, The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Dark Side, Alien: Isolation, Dead Island, Outlast 2, Elite: Dangerous, The Tides Away, Gungrave G.O.R.E., Ancient Souls, and Loki: The Strange Journey of Norse.
For PlayStation Plus Premium members, four new games have been added to the classic game lineup. The first is "Tekken 6" and "Soul Calibur: Shattered Fate", which bring players a retro experience of fighting games, as well as "Bebo Monkey Academy" and "IQ Final". All games can be played on PS4 and PS5.
It marks the continuation of a period of transformation for PlayStation Plus, the PS5 cloud streaming service that was launched just months after a significant increase in subscription prices. Owning a PlayStation is getting more and more expensive, and we're also seeing the PS5 Digital Edition increase in price, which puts the onus on Sony to prove that their console and services must be good value for money.
