In 2023, 6,415 of the more than 18,000 newly registered electric vehicles in Hong Kong are Teslas, which can be said to be one of the most popular electric vehicle brands in Hong Kong.Tesla officials have now confirmed that Asia’s first V4 supercharging station has officially landed in Hong Kong. The supercharging station is located at Lee Garden One in Causeway Bay and has been officially opened.

Currently, all three V4 super charging piles are located in Lee Garden One, and there are 12 V3 super charging piles in Lee Garden Three and Hysan Place respectively, making it the largest charging center on Hong Kong Island.

Tesla regional director Fan Jingyi said that the newly launched V4 super charging station is equipped with longer charging cables for the convenience of owners of other brands. The current charging power is up to 250kW per car. The system will improve charging efficiency OTA in the future (previously it was reported that it could reach 350kW).

It is understood that taking Model 3 as an example, if V3 charging piles are used, some models can travel about 100 kilometers in 5 minutes at peak power, and can replenish up to about 250km of cruising range in 15 minutes; at the same time, Model S can replenish 230km, and Model X can replenish about 203km.

Compared with the V3 supercharger, the charging efficiency of the V4 supercharger is greatly improved by 40%, and its maximum charging power is 350kW.Calculated based on peak power, 5 minutes of charging can increase the range of a Tesla electric vehicle by 168 kilometers.
