Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella officially confirmed during an earnings call on Wednesday that the company is developing an AI "super app" that integrates Microsoft's chat, coding and intelligent agent functions. The application is expected to be officially launched within this year and will serve both consumer and commercial users.
Nadella said at the meeting that Copilot is rapidly evolving from a simple chat tool to a "Cowork" collaboration partner and an "Autopilots" automated system. As we progress this quarter, Microsoft is integrating these disparate Copilot experiences (including coding capabilities) into a "super app," which is a significant step forward and Microsoft expects to share more details soon.
Previously, relevant media reported that Microsoft has been preparing an application that can integrate the Copilot chat robot, GitHub Copilot code writing assistant, Copilot Cowork and the intelligent agent system Autopilots. At the same time, OpenAI has recently launched a new ChatGPT Work application that combines ChatGPT with the AI coding tool Codex.
