Mr. Daniel Ruiz, Xbox Accessories Marketing Manager, said of the new Astral Purple controller: "The rich purple color has a unique and noble temperament that will add color to your gaming setup and enhance your collection. The deep purple theme is reflected on the thumb stick and buttons, and the hybrid D-Pad, bumper and trigger are treated with black matte. All of this is combined with a simple white back shell to make the front of the controller look more eye-catching."

Aside from the new tint, its functionality and internals are the same as a standard Xbox controller. This means players can feel textures on the bumpers, triggers and back shell for a better grip during long gaming sessions. It also offers a 3.5mm audio jack, resettable buttons and a removable battery. Support for Bluetooth and Xbox Wireless technology means the controller can be used on Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, PC and mobile devices.

The Xbox Wireless Controller-Astral Purple version is now available for pre-order on the Microsoft Store and third-party sellers in select Xbox markets. Expected to ship on September 19th. However, the Astral Purple version is a bit more expensive than the standard white or black handles, priced at $64.99. Retailers like Amazon may also be opening up pre-orders soon, so stay tuned.

For those looking for a more stylish addition to their game controller, less than two weeks ago, Microsoft also launched a Storm Cloud Steam Special Edition Xbox controller designed with an energy swirl pattern. Additionally, don’t forget that the Xbox Series X will soon be getting customization features as well. Microsoft officially announced stickers that can stick to the console without adhesive. In addition to Starfield-themed stickers, there will also be themes matching previously released Xbox controllers.
