Gasgoo News According to reports, Japanese car manufacturer Toyota will resume domestic production of three models suspected of data fraud. The assembly lines for two Toyota Corolla models and one Toyota Yaris Cross model will come back online on the evening of September 2 at two factories in northeastern Japan.

Three months ago, Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism said Toyota submitted incorrect data in crash safety tests of three new models, the Corolla Fielder, Corolla Axio and Yaris Cross, and used modified test vehicles in crash safety tests of four older models, including the Crown.

In June this year, Toyota received the first rectification order ever issued by the Japanese government because Toyota admitted to submitting falsified data or using modified test vehicles in crash safety tests. Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism ordered the suspension of shipments of six models, including three Toyota models, which were only resumed after the Japanese government confirmed that they met the country's national safety standards.

In July this year, the Japanese transportation department disclosed more test data violations involving Toyota models. An announcement on July 31 showed that the total number of Toyota models currently under review has reached 14. The models involved include Toyota RAV4, Toyota Harrier SUV, Toyota Noah, Lexus LM mini car and Toyota Prius. Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism requires Toyota to submit planned remedial measures within a month.

In August, Toyota submitted a report detailing how the company would ensure the wrongdoing would never happen again. The company also pledged to improve legal compliance and strengthen internal inspections.

In addition, as the intensity of the typhoon has been downgraded, Toyota Motor is gradually reopening 13 Japanese factories that were temporarily closed due to the typhoon last week.
