According to what netizens shared on social media platforms, their order for the gray fedora version of the Van Gogh Pikachu card has been cancelled. The card, which was previously exclusive to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, will be available on the Pokémon Center website on October 17 as a free gift for those who purchase any trading card game merchandise worth $30 or more.
Although this offer is said to last until October 31st, in fact the event was sold out within an hour of going online.
The sell-out itself does not seem to be a big problem. The problem now is excessive sales, and merchants are forced to cancel some orders.
Now there are different users reporting that they have encountered various situations. Some users said that their gift cards had disappeared from the order list, while other purchased items had been shipped normally. Some users said that some items in the order were cancelled, but the Pikachu cards were shipped normally, although the remaining items totaled less than US$30.
As of now, The Pokémon Company has not issued an official statement, and it is unclear how many users are affected.
