Apple will begin training retail employees on Apple Vision Pro in the "early months" of 2024 in preparation for the launch of mixed reality headsets. Apple has repeatedly stated that the Apple Vision Pro headset will be available sometime in early 2024, but has not disclosed the specific launch time. It now looks like it might go live later in that period, rather than closer to the beginning of the year.

According to Mark Gurman in Bloomberg's "PowerOn" newsletter, Apple has sent a memo to retail employees asking them to apply to participate in "product training events." The event is believed to be part of an education campaign for employees about Apple Vision Pro and the sales process for the device.

The note states: "Selected team members will travel to Cupertino, California for an event sometime in the first few months of 2024. Upon returning to their own stores, they will provide training and ongoing support to store team members."

The memo adds that this is "a collective opportunity for partners who are passionate about showcasing Apple products and training others. We will select those who will participate in this trip through an application and interview process."

While no actual timing for the launch of Apple Vision Pro has been provided directly, the activity of training employees can at least help judge, as these employees will need time to train others in their respective stores, which means the product may launch a few months later this year.

The launch of Apple Vision Pro includes dedicated hands-on areas in flagship stores, while other stores will be equipped with two demo devices each. In-store activity apparently includes assembling orders, including embedding selected straps, light seals and prescription lenses.
