Industry insiders and mobile phone chip experts broke the news,The 2026 iPhone 18 series will debut with the 2nm processor A20. This chip uses a new WMCM package, and the memory is also upgraded to 12GB.Based on previously revealed information, it is currently confirmed that the top version of iPhone 18 Pro Max will be launched with A20 and equipped with 12GB of memory. As for iPhone 18, according to Apple’s differentiation strategy, it may miss out on 2nm and 12GB of memory.

As a major customer of TSMC for many years, Apple has always been an early adopter of advanced processes. This is true for 7nm, 5nm, 3nm and other processes, and it will be no exception for 2nm processes.

It is reported that TSMC will mass produce 2nm process by the end of next year. Apple has booked all the production capacity of TSMC’s 2nm process in the early stage of mass production.Compared with 3nm, TSMC 2nm is expected to improve performance by 10-15% and reduce power consumption by up to 30%.

It is worth noting that next year’s iPhone 17 series will still stay on the 3nm process, and the memory will remain at 8GB. However, Apple will introduce ProMotion technology to the standard. By then, the entire iPhone 17 series will support 120Hz ProMotion always-on displays.
