NVIDIA's GeForceRTX4080SUPER may have been listed on the PCIID repository, hinting at the existence of this GPU variant. Videocardz discovered that TechpowerUp's GPU database editor T4CFantasy has added new PCIIDs to the repository. According to reports, the "2703" device ID refers to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER GPU that has been making a lot of noise recently.
While the PCIID is new, we can't tell for sure if this is actually a GeForceRTX4080SUPER or something completely different, but the ID does appear to be adjacent to the GeForceRTX4080 with device ID "2704".
While this doesn't mean anything, it's likely that it's a revised, updated, or new variant of the graphics card, and the RTX 4080 SUPER is what many think it is.
Recently, there are rumors that Nvidia GeForce RTX4080SUPER can use a mix of AD102/AD103 GPUs depending on availability. Kopite7kimi revealed that the two variants of GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER will feature similar specifications. There are also reports that the graphics card will be equipped with up to 20GB of GDDR6X memory on a 320-bit bus interface, but considering that the maximum bus interface of the AD103 GPU is 256 bits, this may be unlikely.
Nonetheless, the "SUPER" branding of the GeForce RTX 40 is now mentioned by all three leakers, but even so, we can't tell if this will be an official naming, as Nvidia tends to change naming before GPUs are released. Considering it's still early days for the RTX 40 SUPER series to leak, a lot could change between now and closer to launch. The only thing that is certain is that Nvidia is working on an update to the existing GeForce RTX 40 series, which may be launched in early 2024. The company also plans to launch a new GeForce RTX 3050 6GB version in 2024.
