"Our company hereby clarifies: the name change reported online is purely a rumor. The screenshot of the internal email in the manuscript is fictitious. Our company has no motion to change the name."
Nezha Automobile is a car brand owned by Hezhong New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. The brand was launched in June 2018. It is headquartered in Putuo District, Shanghai, and its founder is Fang Yunzhou.
In an email that was circulated on the Internet, "Nezha Auto changed its name to 'Ark Auto'", it mentioned the reason for the name change and said that naming it after the founder means a new starting point. It also explained the meaning of the word "Ark".
According to a previous report from the Financial Associated Press, on the morning of December 6, it was widely rumored in the industry that Zhang Yong, CEO of Nezha Automobile, had resigned and had joined the logistics commercial vehicle brand "Dali Niu Demon King" under Deli New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. in Henan.
However, the news was quickly refuted. Nezha Automobile told the media: "There are no changes in the company's senior management. Zhang Yong still serves as CEO of Nezha Automobile. The company is currently operating normally."
On the evening of the 6th, a reporter from the Financial Associated Press learned from the official Nezha Automobile that due to the company's strategic adjustment, Zhang Yong would no longer serve as CEO and would become a company consultant. Fang Yunzhou, founder and chairman of Nezha Automobile, also serves as the company’s CEO.
At the same time, Fang Yunzhou issued a letter to all company employees stating that Nezha Automobile will implement six major reform measures and expand globally based on the country. Through a series of reforms, Nezha Automobile will make every effort to achieve an IPO while achieving half of its sales at home and half abroad in the next 2-3 years.
