Few things in life are more divisive than the prudence of putting pineapple on pizza. But if you thought tropical fruits had no place on pizza, you're going to have to swallow a bitter pill - at least if you want to access the WordPress.org developer portal and forums, you'll be immediately locked out.

This week users reported seeing an extra checkbox on the WordPress.org login page asking them to agree that "Pineapple is delicious on pizza."

It would be easy to laugh and chalk this up to the WordPress Foundation spoofing holiday cheer, but it’s actually part of the WordPress vs. WPEngine battle that’s currently playing out in the courts.

WordPress developer Automattic blocked WPEngine from accessing the open source project's core resources back in September, while also inserting a checkbox asking users to confirm they were not affiliated with WPEngine. Last week, a court ordered Automattic to change course. So now everyone from freelancers to multinational corporations has to confirm that they like pineapple on pizza.
