Hexin Technology announced that as the company’s independently developed second-generation high-end server processor HX-C2000, its prototype verification chip TC2 has been successfully lit!In 2022, the HX-C2000 No. 1 test chip TC1 successfully completed physical implementation and was successfully tape-out on time. The tape-back test results were in line with expectations. After the successful tape-out of TC1, Hexin Technology implemented IBM's closed own design methodology for high-performance processors, including EDA tools, design processes, basic circuit architecture, etc.
At the end of 2022, the HX-C2000 prototype verification chip TC2 was successfully launched on the EMU/FPGA platform, realizing the pre-silicon startup process.
In June 2023, after 11 months of research and development, TC2 successfully completed tape-out.
On November 1, 2023, the first batch of packaged chips of TC2 arrived at Hexin Technology’s Shanghai chip debugging laboratory.In just 4 hours, the lighting goal was completed, and the entire process of loading the Linux kernel into user mode.
According to reports,The TC2 test chip is based on an advanced process (specifically undisclosed) and focuses on verifying the correctness of the power-on startup process of the HX-C2000 chip, the correctness of the instruction combination function, the correctness of the debugging and tracking functions, the robustness of the high-performance and high-load physical implementation solution, the versatility and efficiency of the testability design solution, the achievability of high-speed customized memory, the efficient adaptability of the new architecture firmware and operating system kernel to the chip, etc., all of which have "passed the test."
The pre-silicon and post-silicon verification and testing of the TC2 chip demonstrated strong consistency and also verified the completeness of the R&D process.
The successful lighting of TC2 is also the first time since IBMPower architecture technology authorization entered China in 2014 that the design, implementation and post-silicon backtesting of the main functions of high-performance CPUs have been successfully completed.
This also signifies thatHexin Technology has completed the digestion, absorption and re-innovation of IBM's architecture authorization.
Hexin Technology plans to achieve mass production of HX-C2000 processors in 2024.
