According to the revision of the "China Game Market 2023 Half-Year Update Report" recently released by overseas market research company NikoPartners, my country's game revenue is not only expected to grow this year, but will also be enough to make up for the abnormal decline in 2022. The company now believes that China's game revenue is expected to reach US$47.7 billion (338.8 billion yuan) in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 5.2%.

NikoPartners attributes this growth to more stable game approvals from my country’s regulatory agencies, successful game launches, and increased spending on older games.

The company also expects the Chinese gaming market to continue to grow, with revenue expected to reach $56.7 billion in 2027. The number of gamers in China is also expected to continue to grow, but at a slower pace. NikoPartners predicts that the number of players will grow by 1.63% in 2023, reaching more than 710 million, with a compound annual growth rate of 1%, and the number of players is expected to reach 735 million by 2027.

Company CEO Lisa Hanson said: "Against the backdrop of the post-epidemic economic downturn, the recovery of China's video game market is good news."

"This rebound makes the outlook for 2024 even more optimistic. As we see more game launches and approvals, a boom in esports, and the continued expansion of Chinese gaming companies, China will continue to play an important role in the global gaming industry."
