With the access of Baidu Search and Baidu Maps to DeepSeek, it marks the end of the era of traditional search engines.Baidu Search officially announced that in order to enrich and diversify the search experience,Baidu search will fully access the latest in-depth search functions of DeepSeek and Wenxin Model. Related functions are expected to be launched soon.
At the same time, Baidu Maps has recently completed DeepSeek-R1 in-depth integration, and you can ask questions directly in the search bar.
For example, if you ask "What are the fun things to do in Zhengzhou?" and select the DeepSeek tab, you will get the results after in-depth thinking. At the same time, relevant addresses will be added to the relevant attractions, and you can navigate by clicking on them.
Baidu is the second technology giant to access DeepSeek after Tencent. Previously, WeChat’s “Souyisou” had tested the DeepSeek-R1 model in grayscale to compete for the entrance position of AI search.
As more and more Internet giants access DeepSeek, search has shifted from "information retrieval" to "problem solving", such as the application of photo problem solving, complex planning and other scenarios.
Traditional search engines have great limitations, such as too many advertisements, and keyword matching cannot meet complex needs, such as multiple rounds of dialogue, cross-modal understanding, etc.
In the short term in the future, search may evolve into a "hybrid model", in which AI-generated answers coexist with traditional link lists, and users choose the interaction method according to their needs.
But in the long run, AI will definitely replace traditional search engines.
