Apple's more personalized Siri features will take more time. Company spokesperson Jacqueline Roy issued the following statement to Daring Fireball today announcing the delay:
Siri helps our users find what they need and complete tasks quickly. Over the past six months, we've made Siri more conversational, introduced new features like Type Siri and Product Knowledge, and added integration with ChatGPT. We've also been building a more personalized Siri that better understands your personal context and can take actions for you within and across your apps. Implementing these features is taking longer than we thought and we expect to have them available next year.
What exactly "one year in the future" means remains unclear. At last year's WWDC conference, Apple launched Apple Intelligence (Apple Intelligence), demonstrating Siri's ability to understand your personal context and take actions based on the content displayed on the screen. Apple said at the time that the features would be "coming next year," and they were widely expected to arrive this spring.Judging from today's announcement, it seems that the rollout of these features will take some time. Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman said in a report this weekend that a "truly modern conversational version of Siri" may not be launched until iOS 20 "at best."
