While the iPhone 17 Pro models are still about four months away, there are already rumors about next year's iPhone 18 Pro models. The latest news comes from Ross Young, vice president of Counterpoint Research, who has a wealth of information about Apple's future product displays.today, he posted more information on social media, suggesting that the iPhone 18 Pro models will be equipped with an under-screen Face ID system.

Young wrote: "At the SID Business Conference today, OTI Lumionics CEO Michael Helander confirmed that they expect phones with under-display Face ID using their materials to be available in 2026. That means iPhone 18 Pro models will feature under-display Face ID, and other brands and models will follow suit."

Earlier this month, The Information's Wayne Ma also reported that iPhone 18 Pro models will be equipped with under-screen Face ID. He said the devices only have a small hole in the upper left corner of the screen to accommodate the front-facing camera. Reports say the devices will no longer retain the pill-shaped punch hole at the top of the screen, but it's unclear if this means the Smart Island feature will be deactivated.
Apple is expected to release iPhone 18 Pro models in September 2026.
