Recently, Yadi has removed all electric bicycles from multiple e-commerce platforms, and Nine has also removed many popular electric bicycles from its shelves. Yadi and No. 9 offline stores are still selling the products, but they are all in a "clearing inventory" state. Affected by the new national standards, old models will be gradually discontinued. The customer service staff of Yadi flagship stores on Tmall, Douyin, and JD.com all told Jiupai Finance reporters that electric vehicles are mainly divided into electric bicycles and electric motorcycles. The electric bicycles in their stores were removed from the shelves on July 15, and only electric motorcycles are currently on sale.

As for the reason for the removal, the official customer service of Yadi and No.9 responded to Jiupai Finance reporter, "Due to the recent strong demand for some electric bicycle models, online inventory is temporarily unable to meet the order timeliness requirements. To avoid delaying your experience, online orders are not supported for the time being. It is recommended that you go to the nearest offline store to purchase."

In this regard, reporters from Jiupai Finance asked Yadi and No. 9, but no response was received as of press time.

Jiupai Finance reporters learned from relevant offline stores that currently all old electric bicycles are basically in stock, but have been gradually discontinued.

Shanghai No. 19 dealer told Jiupai Finance reporter that many models are being removed from the shelves because the new national standard is about to be implemented. Factories across the country will stop producing previous models. Once the inventory is sold out, they will be gone and all will start producing the new national standard.

A Yadea store owner told Jiupai Finance reporter that after the production of old GB electric vehicles was discontinued in September, each brand store still had a three-month transition period to "clear inventory." In December, even one old GB electric vehicle could not be sold.

According to the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of Jiupai Finance, in order to reduce fire accident hazards and hazards, reduce the risk of traffic accidents, and prevent illegal modifications, the mandatory national standard "Electric Bicycle Safety Technical Specifications" (GB17761-2024) will be implemented on September 1, 2025. All electric bicycles produced must comply with the new standards; after December 1, 2025, all electric bicycles sold must comply with the new standards.

According to the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the main modifications to the new national standard for electric bicycles GB17761-2024 include: the plastic parts used in the body cannot exceed 5.5% of the total weight; the flame retardancy requirements of the non-metallic materials of the entire vehicle have been increased; the weight limit of the lead-acid version has been increased from 55kg to 63kg; the company's quality assurance capabilities and product consistency requirements and methods have been added; electric bicycles for business activities such as urban logistics and commercial leasing also need to install the Beidou positioning system.

As of July 16, the customer service of many official flagship stores of Luyuan and Mavericks stated that the electric bicycles on sale in the store comply with the new national standard GB17761-2024. The electric bicycles in the Emma Douyin flagship store comply with the new national standards in 2024, but the electric bicycles in the Tmall flagship store only comply with the 2018 national standards.
