At today’s press conference of the State Council Information Office, officials revealed that,The total number of 5G base stations in my country has reached 4.55 million, and the user penetration rate exceeds 79%. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will accelerate the deployment of 5G-A and the research and development of 6G technology.According to Xie Cun, director of the Information and Communications Development Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as of the end of June, the total number of 5G base stations in my country reached 4.55 million, 5G mobile phone users reached 1.118 billion, and the user penetration rate exceeded 79%.

In terms of 5G and 6G development, the next step will be to continue to improve the depth and breadth of 5G coverage, accelerate the deployment of 5G-A, and further promote the "signal upgrade" special action.

In addition, it will accelerate the research and development of 6G technology, proactively lay out and cultivate the application industry ecosystem for 6G.

Huang Yuhong, president of China Mobile Research Institute, once mentioned,At present, the industry generally believes that 6G communication capabilities will be more than 10 times that of 5G, and 6G will be commercially available around 2030.Wang Zhiqin, deputy director of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, leader of my country's 6G promotion group, said last year that we have tested related wireless and network technologies.Including the integration of perception and communication, AI and communication, and the integration of heaven and earth technology.

As for the vision of future 6G, we hope that it can transcend traditional communications and realize a converged network including perception, data, AI, and computing.

Currently, 3GPP standard partners including my country, Europe, the United States, Japan, South Korea and India are jointly developing 6G standards.

It is expected that the 6G technical standard research will be completed from 2025 to 2027, and the first version of the technical specifications will be completed in March 2029.
