microMicrosoft recently released the "Windows 10 Consumer Edition Extended Security Updates (ESU) Program" announcement, officially clarifying the security update details after Windows 10 ends mainstream support. According to this plan, users can register for ESU authorization through their Microsoft account and pay US$30 (approximately RMB 215).You can qualify for security updates for up to 10 devices under the same account without having to pay separately for each device.

In addition, users can also choose to redeem ESU qualifications through 1,000 Microsoft reward points, or automatically obtain free update permissions through synchronized computer settings.

This security update service will last until October 13, 2026, and is applicable to mainstream versions such as Windows 10 22H2 Home Edition and Professional Edition. There are two core requirements for registration: the device must be logged in with an administrator account and have the latest system updates installed.

It is worth noting that enterprise-level commercial equipment and equipment using specific centralized management modes (such as domain control management) are excluded from registration.

Microsoft specifically emphasizes that the ESU program only provides critical security patches and does not include any new feature improvements or technical support services. For users who are currently unable to upgrade to Windows 11 due to hardware compatibility or usage habits, Microsoft strongly recommends completing registration in time during the support window period to ensure the continuity of system security protection.
