Google announced today that it will introduce Gemini AI assistant in mobile games downloaded from Google Play. Players can access Gemini Live functions through the new sidebar during the game, and seek game tips or help without switching windows. This integration will gradually roll out in select games over the coming months.

According to Google, Gemini Live can "see" the player's current game screen, thereby providing more targeted suggestions for specific game scenarios. Similar to Microsoft's Gaming Copilot, which was launched on the Xbox mobile app and Windows 11 PC this year, players can use voice to ask questions during the game, and Gemini will answer them in real time in voice form.
In addition to the Gemini AI assistant, the newly launched sidebar inside the game will also display player rewards, offers and achievement details. At the same time, Google announced that it will widely launch Google Play Games on the PC side, three years after the beta version of the project was launched. Currently users can access more than 200,000 Google Play games on mobile devices and PCs.

The Google Play Store will also receive a number of game-related updates in the near future, including richer game page information to facilitate players to overview progress, achievements and developer updates. In addition, Google will also launch a game Q&A section in some markets, where players can ask and answer questions on the game store page and exchange game experiences with each other.
