Epic says it’s too difficult to add Nintendo characters to Fortnite

Epic's multiplayer shooter Fortnite has collaborated with many games in recent years, but without a Nintendo character. However, Epic Games is very interested in working with Nintendo in the future. Recently, Fortnite ecosystem lead Saxs Persson said in an interview with Axios when asked about the company's efforts to work with Nintendo: "I don't know what words to use to describe the process of making diamonds."

Persson went on to explain why Fortnite hasn't partnered with Nintendo yet, saying: "Nintendo has their strategy, we have our strategy, and we hope to be able to use their characters at some point because our players will enjoy it."

Fortnite has already partnered with other game makers. PlayStation's Kratos and Xbox's Master Chief both appear in the game.

Fortnite was originally released in 2017. In 2018, the game launched a Switch version at the E3 Nintendo Direct.
