Recently, James Cameron was interviewed by People magazine. He revealed the progress of the three sequels after "Avatar". Among them, the post-production of "Avatar 3" is on track and can catch up with the 2025 Christmas schedule.

Cameron said that before the release of the second part, the post-production of "Avatar 2", the motion capture and live-action shooting of "Avatar 3", and a small part of the filming of "Avatar 4" were carried out at the same time. Because there is a six-year time jump in the story of "Avatar 4", part of it had to be shot first.

Cameron said that "Avatar 3" will deepen the characterization of the characters. He said: "The most significant creative progress in "Avatar 3" is the improvement of the depth of the characters. There will also be new cultures and new creatures. But the most important thing is to get into the hearts and souls of the characters, and there will also be interesting new characters added."

It is reported that "Avatar 3" will explore the different cultures of Pandora and the Na'vi people, and will involve the fire tribe "AshPeople", and from different angles. Cameron said: "So far I have only shown the good aspects of the Na'vi. The first two movies were negative human examples and very positive Na'vi examples. In "Avatar 3" we will do the opposite. In "Avatar 5", the Na'vi will even come to Earth."

Previously, the official release dates of the three "Avatar" sequels were announced: "Avatar 3" on December 19, 2025, "Avatar 4" on December 21, 2029, and "Avatar 5" on December 19, 2031.
