It is reported that one month after acquiring the film and television adaptation rights of Labbu, Sony Pictures has invited director Paul King, who directed "Paddington Bear" and "Wonka", to bring this globally popular fashion IP to the big screen.


It is reported that Paul King will serve as the director of this theatrical film, and will also co-produce with Department M Company (representative works "The Christopher Family" and "The Hand that Rocks the Cradle" remake) and She Wenxin (representative works "The Wishing Dragon" and "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood").

According to reports, the project is currently in the early stages of development and a screenwriter has not yet been identified. Sony is working with Chinese fashion retailer and brand Pop Mart to promote this adaptation.
