Recently, some players discovered that a previously unknown device model code "OSM" appeared on the Nintendo account portal, triggering widespread rumors about the possible existence of a new Switch 2 model. Some users discovered on the device association page of the Nintendo Account Portal that in addition to the known Switch model codes (such as the HAC of the original Switch, the HEG of the Switch OLED, the HDH of the Switch Lite, and the BEE of the Switch 2), there is also a model named "OSM".

When trying to associate this code, the Switch2 icon is displayed and is clearly listed as a product code in the website script. It is worth noting that if you enter other invalid codes, the page will return an error message, which indicates that "OSM" is a valid identifier officially recognized by the system.

In addition, a Nintendo web service used to generate device icons based on product codes also confirmed the existence of the code. The "OSM" code has been added to the service list, and the image it generates is the same as the icon for the existing Switch2 (code BEE). According to a website dedicated to tracking Nintendo development information, the current Switch 2 development kit still uses BEE code, so OSM is likely to represent another independent hardware model.

Although there is no official confirmation, the community has begun to speculate. Since the internal codename of Switch 2 is rumored to be "Ounce", some players speculate that "OSM" may mean "Ounce Small Model", that is, a model that may be called "Switch 2 Lite" or smaller. Currently, Nintendo has not responded to this rumor.
