In the recently held Dutch station of the 2026 WSBK World Superbike Championship, Zhang Xue’s motorcycle finished fourth in the first round of the race. But in the last WSBK Portugal station, Zhang Xue motorcycle driver Valentin Debise drove an 820RR-RS racing car, eating up Yamaha, Ducati and other models on the track, and won the SSP class championship in both rounds with a huge advantage of nearly 4 seconds.

Because of the excellent performance of Zhang Xue’s motorcycle, there were rumors before the race that,Zhang Xue Motorcycle's dominant performance in the Portuguese Grand Prix triggered the event's BOP (Balance of Performance) rules, which increased the weight of the car by 7 kilograms and limited the power output to 5%.
However, in this Dutch race, Zhang Xue Motorcycle Team’s car was not restricted by the BOP performance balance rules, and its performance was still the same as in the previous race.
It is understood that WSBK’s universal BOP performance balance rules will dynamically adjust vehicle weight, power output and other parameters based on the performance of each team to maintain the competitive balance of the event.
The BOP is adjusted uniformly every three stops, and the Dutch stop happens to be the third stop. All participating vehicles will keep their parameters unchanged from the first two stops. Starting from the next stop, each model will usher in a new round of performance calibration based on the performance of the first three stops.
Advantaged models may be weakened, and weak models are expected to be strengthened. With Zhang Xue Motorcycles’ previous strong performance, there is a high probability that the BOP rules will be adjusted at the next stop. The specific restriction plan needs to wait for the official announcement of the International Motorcycle Federation.
It is worth mentioning that the Assen circuit in the Netherlands is known as the "right-hand bend hell" and requires extremely high vehicle control and braking response.Zhang Xue Motorcycles won second place in the super pole race and fourth place in the first round of the race, showing its ability to compete head-on with traditional strong teams such as Ducati and Yamaha.
At 20:00 on April 19th, Beijing time, the second round of the Dutch Grand Prix is about to begin. We will wait and see whether Zhang Xue’s motorcycle can get on the podium again.
