The recent price increase of $300 for Steam handheld consoles has caused complaints from players. As Steam's archrival, the Epic platform did not miss this opportunity to add insult to injury. Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney took the opportunity to mock Valve co-founder Gabe Newell (G Fat).
As we all know, one of Fat G’s lifelong hobbies is to buy and invest in various yachts. He even owns a yacht the size of an American football field, which is specially used to explore the deepest corners of the ocean. Therefore, Tim wrote an article in this regard: "Everyone is too harsh. After all, the cost of parts ultimately supported by Steam player consumption has increased significantly, and economic trends have also seriously disrupted the supply chain of superyacht parts."
The feud between Sweeney and Newell is nothing new. In 2018, emails exposed in the lawsuit revealed that the Epic CEO called Valve executives "idiots" over Steam's revenue-sharing agreement with developers, which he considered an abuse of his market position. Since then, the Epic Games Store has primarily existed as a drop-in replacement for Steam, and continues to exist in the shadow of rival platforms. However, this hostile attack has always been one-sided, and G Fat has never expressed or counterattacked.
