Want to own a Nintendo 3DS XL autographed by legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto? 2015 Nintendo World Championship champion John "Numbers" Goldberg (John Numbers) recently put the handheld console he won that year up for auction on eBay. As of press time, the bidding has exceeded $20,000.

Goldberg announced the news in a post on social media: "Okay, this is a big deal and I've been thinking about it for a long time - I put the 3DS that I won at the 2015 Nintendo World Championship on eBay. It's autographed by Shigeru Miyamoto!"

Goldberg admitted on the auction page that the volume of bidding exceeded his expectations. In order to avoid accidents during transportation, he expressed his hope to deliver the handheld console to the final buyer in person.

It should be noted that Goldberg showed the championship trophy that year in the picture confirming his identity, but he made it clear that the trophy was not for sale.

Interestingly, the runner-up in that year’s finals—world record-holding speedrunner Narcissa Wright—also received a 3DS signed by Shigeru Miyamoto. However, this "existence of the same model" does not seem to affect the auction value of Goldberg's handheld console at all.
