According to the Chinese Business Daily Dafeng News, on the evening of June 4, many Shandong netizens posted videos saying that an explosion occurred in Pingdu City, and there were large fires and thick smoke at the scene. Some local netizens prayed on social platforms, hoping that there would be no casualties. In the video, you can see multiple fire trucks parked on the roadside, and the sirens are always sounding.

On the morning of June 5, reporters from Dafeng News of the Chinese Business Daily learned from many sources that at about 9 pm on the 4th, an electric car exploded while charging in the northeast direction of the intersection of Shenzhen Road and Zhengzhou Road in Pingdu City, igniting a house next to it.

A local merchant said that this was a vehicle for personal use and the owner rented it in a yard. An accident occurred while charging in the yard. The brand of the vehicle is Xiaopeng.

Staff from the Pingdu City Emergency Management Bureau also confirmed that the news about a chemical plant explosion reported online was false. The real situation is that a Xiaopeng electric car exploded. Firefighters were quickly dispatched and the fire was under control after more than an hour. There are no chemical plants on this stretch either.

According to reports, the fire area of this deflagration incident was nearly 100 square meters. Because no one was in the car at the time of the incident, no casualties were caused. The specific cause of the vehicle fire and explosion is still under investigation by relevant departments.
