Apple is stepping up work on the 20th anniversary iPhone model it plans to release next year, Bloomberg reports. Multiple rumors indicate that this commemorative iPhone will use a full-screen design with slightly curved glass on four sides, bringing an almost borderless visual effect.

Reports indicate that Apple will launch two 20th anniversary iPhones with body sizes similar to the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max that will be released in September this year. Current predictions believe that the overall size of the iPhone 18 Pro series will remain consistent with the existing iPhone 17 Pro series, which means that the commemorative edition model is likely to be available in two size options of approximately 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches.
Apple plans to launch the second-generation foldable iPhone simultaneously with the release of the 20th anniversary iPhone. All three new phones will be equipped with the A21 chip based on the 2nm process. In addition, Apple is also developing the iPhone 19 series, but this series will be equipped with a different version of the A21 chip, which is expected to be a relatively basic standard version rather than a Pro-level version.
According to current plans, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max to be released this year will use the A20 Pro processor based on the 2nm process for the first time. This will be the first time in many years that Apple’s flagship iPhone has completed a process node upgrade, marking its official transition from a 3nm chip to a 2nm platform.
The report also mentioned that there will be no standard iPhone 18 in this fall’s release cycle. Apple plans to delay the launch of this model until the spring of 2027 and equip it with the relatively weaker A20 chip, which is also based on the 2nm process.
